Camera Man and Flower

Park City Banksy's best-known of his three surviving works, this one, is a photograph of a flower that the photographer probably accidentally plucked from its roots, which is located on his main street. Jawa adorns his cow wall. Javanese cattle owners make every effort to protect their artistic treasures. A sturdy frame and bulletproof glass protect the painting from contamination, and its protection was tested against the 2014 ball peen hammer attack. Luckily, the suitcase and the painting inside survived. In addition to their functional value, these protective functions created a kind of temple enshrining the works of their beloved vandal. This artwork and a Java cow can be found at 402 Main Street.

Praying Boy

This piece is also in the Main Street area and is painted on the parking lot wall near the last photo. Praying Boy was nearly wiped out by the frustrated performers during the cameraman and Flower's glass-smashing attack. The original piece was almost completely painted over, leaving only the grungy outline of the original boy and a piece of heavenly pink clothing peeking out from beneath the seedy additions. Fortunately, an experienced art restorer was able to save the image, so art lovers can enjoy it again. The frame and glass were then restored and the jealous vandal was arrested, tried and convicted.

Dirty Rat

The mouse is a frequent element in Banksy's work, even symbolic. Park City was lucky enough to have Banksy's rat on the stage door of the Egyptian Theatre. Wearing 3D glasses, this tiny rodent is invisible to the average passerby. At least not at the moment. The door containing the work was quickly removed and safely stored to prevent the vandalism that affected his two remaining works. It is now kept in a theater vault waiting to be moved to a permanent home while this Egyptian uses the Dirty Rat for fundraising to support children's programs. We hope the Dirty Rat will be back in public soon. If you want to know more, we have a fundraiser in progress.
